Marry Me a Little: Anne Hathaway deals with ‘Fiance’

Anne Hathaway seems to specialize in movies about weddings.
According to Variety, Anne Hathaway has agreed to star in The Fiance. Burr Steers will direct the romantic comedy. Etan Cohen is doing a rewrite of Dyanne Stemple and Jennifer Robinson’s script. Cohen wrote Tropic Thunder, which makes him the obvious choice to fix up a rom-com about marriage issues (just kidding, Etan!).
Hathaway will star as a bride-to-be who breaks up with her seemingly ideal fiance in order to find herself. However, her parents keep trying to get them back together, making it difficult for her to move on.
Production will most likely start in Harch in the hope of accommodating Hathaway’s commitment to Get Smart 2. She currently is shooting a bit part in Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. She can be seen in movie theaters now in Rachel Getting Married and later this year in Bridal Wars.
Hey…anyone detect a trend here? Like three of Hathaway’s most recent movies have had to deal with weddings. What’s up? Are there issues Hathaway about weddings or marriage that Hathaway is tring to manage? Should we worry if her next movie is named The Divorce? I’m afraid so.
