I remember a time when Liam Neeson was a softly-spoken Northern Irish actor who played good guys in films with lots of talking and not so much action. But now? Now Neeson seems to be the go-to guy when Hollywood needs a tough guy.
A quick look at Neeson’s IMDb page tells the tale of an actor who took a long time to find his niche. And he found it primarily thanks to Taken. In the four years since that movie he’s been absolutely everywhere. And usually playing someone not afraid of using his fists to get answers.
The same goes for Neeson’s new movie The Grey, in which he plays the leader of a band of oil rig workers who have to make their way through the wilds of Alaska after surviving a plane crash. These are all tough men, and yet they still need Neeson.
All we need now is Neeson to go up against Chuck Norris. They can battle it out on film to finally see who is the toughest. Norris is all hype supported by an Internet meme, but Neeson is the real deal. My money’s on him.
