Liam Hemsworth to Star in “Timeless”

Liam Hemsworth will manipulate time...but still doesn't get cast as Thor.

Rumored last week, now confirmed–Liam Hemsworth will star in “Timeless,” a romantic drama to be directed by Phillip Noyce. Bill Kelly wrote the script.

Here’s how the press release describes the film:

A thrilling adventure that challenges the known boundaries of science and the human heart, Timeless tells the breathtaking story of a young man who devotes himself to achieving the unimaginable. After the sudden death of his wife, he enlists the world’s best minds to try to build a scientific marvel to turn back time and reunite him with his lost love.

Interesting direction for the usually action-oriented Noyce.

So which Hemsworth is busier? Here’s what Liam has coming up:

“The Hunger Games” (2012)
“The Expendables 2″ (2012)
“Empire State” (2013)
“Timeless” (2013)
“Arabian Nights” (2014)

And now Chris:

“The Cabin in the Woods” (2012)
“Red Dawn” (2012)
“Snow White and the Huntsman” (2012)
“The Avengers” (2012)
“Rush” (2012/2013)

Each have five movies, though Chris is very heavy on 2012 due to the late releases of “Cabin” and “Dawn,” each of which were filmed a few years ago. Both have potential blockbusters this year: “The Hunger Games” and “The Avengers.” It’s really a pick ‘em, but I’d have to give Chris the slight edge for the moment because he’s got two movies that could turn into event types: “Snow White” and “Rush,” while Liam has several small films lined up. Plus Chris has more room to maneuver over the next few years, while Liam is getting pretty booked. then again, I don’t know–maybe slow and steady will win the race rather than fast and flashy. I know, you’re thinking, “What race?”
