Krysten Ritter Joins “Veronica Mars” Movie

Krysten Ritter returns to "Veronica Mars."

It seems like just a few days ago that we heard about Krysten Ritter joining the cast of Tim Burton’s “Big Eyes.” Why, it was just a few days ago!! Well, now we have more news about Ritter–Deadline reports that Ritter has signed on for the “Veronica Mars” movie. The cult TV series is making it to the big screen courtesy of a successful Kickstarter campaign, led by director Rob Marshall and star Kristen Bell.

Ritter announced the casting on Twitter:

G-G-G-Gia!!!! I’m thrilled to be reprising my role of Gia Goodman in the Veronica Mars movie!!! It’s gonna be very juicy. Veronica Mars has a special place in my heart because it was my first big acting job (!!!!!!) and it was also one of the most lovely on-set experiences you could ever ask for. This will truly be an awesome shoot, not only because we all get to be reunited (can’t WAIT!) but because of the revolutionary way this all was able to come to life! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Rob Thomas, Kristen Bell, Kickstarter, and most of all, to you, our AMAZING FANS, for making it happen. I’m honored to be a part of it! @veronicamars #veronicamarsmovie

I never watched “Veronica Mars,” but I”m intrigued by one of the tweets she got in response to the announcement:

@MeisterShake: @Krystenritter YES! This is so awesome! Hope Gia figured out what Chlamydia is.

Okay, then!

The cast also includes Tina Majorino, Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowell and Francis Capra.
