Kristen Stewart Tries to Find Her Inner Rocker

Seriously, can anyone today hope to match the coolness of the real Runaways?
The MTV Movies Blog talked to Kristen Stewart at Sundance, where she’s promoting her oh-so-indie flick “Adventureland,” about how she’s trying to prepare for her role as Joan Jett in the biopic of Jett’s legendary rock band The Runaways.
Jett’s an executive producer on the film and has been talking to Stewart to help her understand the time, presumably. Stewart has also been “hard at work picking up old guitar riffs.” That’s very cute and all that, but it’s pretty unlikely she’ll be able to even come close to emulating Jett’s guitar work. Let’s put it this way–when a producer was putting the band of talented teen girls together, he decided to model each one after a current male rock star, and Jett was supposed to be Keith Richards. Yeah, you don’t learn that in two months.
Don’t worry about this film interfering with Stewart’s “Twilight” tasks–it’s supposed to film at the end of 2009, well after “New Moon” is finished.
I’m not excited about this film. I’d much rather see a documentary about The Runaways, or just watch their cool videos. I can’t imagine them casting anyone in this movie who will have what it takes to recapture the period and the eternal awesomeness of The Runaways. I am very persnickety about this kind of thing.
