Jim Carrey might do some kick-assing.
…but does Jim Carrey want “Kick-Ass 2?”
Here’s the story: Deadline says the makers of “Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall” want Jim Carrey to take a “small but showy” part in the sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s 2010 adaptation of the comic book. Jeff Wadlow is writing and directing this time around. Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage are all returning from the original.
Carrey would play “the Colonel,” who “he helps galvanize the team of misfit super heroes assembled to fight evil. This sounds like it would involve a couple of days of “Go do that nutty Jim Carrey stuff” and voila, he’s done. Carrey is supposed to be a big fan of the film, but that doesn’t mean he’ll just say, “Sure, yeah, when do you need me there?” So it may seem like a good match, but don’t count on it.
Carrey’s been attached to a number of projects recently–the “Dumb and Dumber” sequel, “Pierre Pierre”–but nothing’s definite. What we do know is that next year he’ll be seen in “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” with Steve Carell. That’s completed.
