Keira Knightley Won’t Pirate Up

Keira Knightley, done with piracy. 

In an interview with the MTV Movie Blog, Keira Knightley all but put an end to any chance of her participating in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Just yesterday, Johnny Depp confirmed that he was in for PotC 4.

Knightley had this to say about her work on the franchise:

“They were completely amazing, but I think I can’t wear corsets for a while. I had an amazing journey with those three films. But I think it’s [time to do] different things.”

What she means is that between the Pirates  movies and her current release, The Duchess, she’s more than crossed the 18th century off her fashion parade of costume dramas. Oh, and yes, she’s obviously trying to forge a more serious career that involves more than just playing the resident girl in summer popcorn movies. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but you don’t want to get boxed into that kind of thing.
