Keira Knightley In Talks To Play “The Imitation Game”

Keira Knightley adds to her World War II costume collection.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Keira Knightley is in talks to join the cast of “The Imitation Game.” Benedict Cumberbatch is already set to star with Morten Tyldum is directing.

Graham Moore wrote the adaptation of the book “Alan Turing: The Enigma.” by Andrew Hodges. Turing (Cumberbatch, of course) was a mathematician and cryptographer whose work contributed to the breaking of the German “Enigma” code, which helped the British spy on the Nazis. His mathematical work played an important part in the development of modern computing. After the war, Turing was prosecuted by the British government for being homosexual, leading him to commit suicide.

Knightley will play “a woman from a very conservative background who not only forms a complicated relationship with Turing but is there for him until the end.” She will next be seen on screen in “Jack Ryan.”
