Katee Sackhoff Set For Untitled Female Expendables-ish Type Movie

By Kirsten Anderson Casting

Katee Sackhoff will fight alongside Gina Carano.

It’s not being made by the people who made “The Expendables” or its successful sequel, but the movie that’s referred to as a “Female Expendables” is seemingly happening. Variety tells us that Katee Sackhoff has joined the cast, which already has signed up Gina Carano. The film is being produced by the colorfully named 1984 Private Defense Contractors. Dutch Southern is writing the script, but no director has been announced.

Sackhoff is best known for her role as Kara “Starbuck” Thrace in “Battlestar Galactica” (the second one, not the original–though if it was the early one, then Sackhoff would be an age peer of many of the actual “Expendables” stars). She’s also been seen in the TV series “Longmire.” In the feature film category, she’s got “Sexy Evil Genius,” “The Haunting in Georgia,” and the “Untitled Riddick Sequel.” Ahh, love the untitled ones.

Speaking of, I hope the “Female Expendables” gets a real title soon, as the fake temp title just isn’t doing much for me. They expect to announce more cast members soon.
