ComingSoon notes that in an article in Australia’s Herald-Sun, JLA director-in-waiting George Miller said that the movie would likely begin filming next year. Yes, we know we’ve heard about this stop and start production ten thousand times before, but, well…this is the latest start. No confirmation yet from studio Warner Brothers about what’s going on.
Miller also said it would not be filming in Australia. If you remember, one of the many things that held up the production was that the Down Under location was deemed no longer feasible because a) logjam from other films using the big studios and b) a ruling that the film wasn’t “Australian” enough to qualify for tax breaks given to native productions. No word yet on where it will be filmed.
Incidentally, in the brief article, Miller raved about Megan Gale’s audition for Wonder Woman, saying she “blitzed” the competition. Well, that seems like something Wonder Woman should be able to do, doesn’t it? Now hopefully she’s been using her spare time to work on her golden lasso skills…

Megan Gale was born in Australia. She is half-British and half Polynesian. Considering that the Europeans who settled Australia were from Britain, that makes her historically about as Australian as anyone else there. It’s all beside the point anyway, as Wonder Woman was an Amazon and it’s unlikely anyone is going to find a genuine Amazon to cast. So casting is up for grabs!

The Polynesians and the Samoans originally came from continental America, as did the Australians, yet you call her Eurasian stock, whatever she may be? Wonder Woman is a fictional American character, too, and not an actual historical Amazon. So I don’t quite get your position or where you might be posting from on all of this talk.
