The A-Team movie which has been rumoured, scripted, on the cards, and then off it, has finally got a director and a release date.
John Singleton, the man behind Shaft, Four Brothers and 2 Fast 2 Furious has been confirmed as the director, while Twentieth Century Fox has pencilled in a release date of June 12th, 2009.
When Kirsten first spoke about the A-Team movie back in December it was because reports were circulating that the script was below par:
“The plot supposedly turns on the group being sent on a mission to recover some artifacts from an Iraqi museum at the start of the Iraq war. They get tossed in prison while the government pretends they weren’t on official business.”
There’s no news whether the script or storyline has been changed since then, but I sure hope writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas have done something to add a bit of interest to the plot, as that quite frankly sounds dull as ditch water.
No casting has yet been decided on, although according to Digital Spy, rapper turned actor Ice Cube said he would be interested in the role of B.A. Baracus, originally played by the always scary Mr T.
This movie could end up being brilliant, or the biggest pile of horse shit this side of Christendom. I’m hoping for the former, but fear the latter will prove more likely.

Why not Michael Clarke Duncan as B.A. Baracus. Now that would be an intense Character!
the series was cool when i was a kid, but now after a hundred reruns on tv it’s seems totally stupid, leave it as it were, just like the Dukes off Hazard, and Nightrider. take that as an a source that this can not work!!!Those remake movies Sucked!! Mr T is unreplaceble!!!, i mean he still is B.A.! Even in the terrible Teleshop network were he sells a steam-oven. But you gotta love em. my opinion about this remake idea, and i qoute after MrT:
“Shut up fool, and just have a glas of milk!”
