Joel McHale Marries Jessica Alba…in “Spy Kids 4″

Look at the cute little doggie!! Oh, and Joel McHale.
Okay, the actual title is “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World,” but that’s a lot clunkier than “Spy Kids 4,” so let’s leave it there for now.
As said in the title, McHale will play a spy-hunting reporter, who marries former spy Alba (news comes courtesy of Variety; you can reach the original article here if you haven’t already outrun your monthly freebies. I think this may have done it for me. Dang it, I knew I shouldn’t have read that “Hellcats” review). He brings a couple of kids to the marriage, and they get involved in spying. Hence, the spy kids. They will, of course, replace the original spy kids (Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara), who I believe are now seen in some AARP commercials (just kidding! I’m sure they are very nice young adults who were smart enough to get out of the business).
McHale hosted E!’s “Talk Soup,” but became a breakout star in last year’s sitcom hit “Community.” That landed him roles in the upcoming “What’s Your Number?” with Anna Faris, and “The Big Year,” with Steve Martin. McHale is a very good comedian with the looks of an average guy. Onscreen, though, he gets to be married to Alba, whose name is often found on lists like “Hottest Women in the World.” If this happened in real life, it would be a stellar example of “outkicking your coverage.”
“Spy Kids 4″ is written and directed by franchise creator Robert Rodriguez. The film is set to be released next August 19th.
