Oh, how young and dumb they were...
Well, maybe “Men in Black 3″ won’t spawn a trend of “sequels years after anyone cares” after all.
A few months ago Peter Farrelly said that a sequel to “Dumb and Dumber” was finally set to go, with stars Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey ready for a September shoot. Now Entertainment Tonight reports that the production has hit a major snag as Carrey has dropped out of the project. ET says:
According to sources, Carrey grew increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the project.
Carrey’s publicist then released this statement from Carrey:
“I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it’s implied in the title.”
No, there’s no point in making this movie without Carrey, and applause to Carrey, who may have saved everyone a lot of trouble and embarrassment. Leave well enough alone.
Meanwhile, next year Carrey will be seen in “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” with Steve Carrell.
