Jena Malone--we're pretty sure this time--joins "Catching Fire."
Okay, now I hope this is the end of this casting rumor tizzy. On June 26th we heard that Jena Malone was the frontrunner for the pivotal role of Johanna Mason in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” Then on June 29th news broke that 18 year old model Zoe Agelikki was in “most serious talks for the role.” I described both of these options to friends who know “The Hunger Games” books well. Their reaction to Malone was okay, sounds good. To Agelikki, they said, “NOOOOOO!! So. Wrong.”
Well, it looks like we can all breathe a sigh of relief because The Hollywood Reporter says that Malone has indeed been offered the role. Now we have to hope that this is really, really true.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is set to be released on November 22, 2013. The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth.
