So it’s no secret that I Am Legend seemed to have the world’s longest shoot (particularly if you lived in New York, where the crew seemed to be a constant presence). It’s also widely known that they raced back last fall to shoot a new ending, because the first one was considered “not commercial enough.”
Well, the special edition DVD is coming out on March 18th and the original ending is set to be included on the disc. But you don’t have to wait! Thanks to the wonders of YouTube (and even more thanks to Slashfilm for digging through the morass that is YouTube to find this), the ending’s been leaked, and is yours below to enjoy, ponder, and wonder why the heck they didn’t use this one because it is oh so awesome. Or you can shrug and say, “Big deal, the theater version worked fine.” Or you can say, “Oh, good, I didn’t see it in the theaters, but now I’ve seen this ending and don’t have to watch the whole movie.” See? There’s something for everyone! Gosh, life is fabulous today.
