Heard, Not Seen: Rogen Lends Voice To Pegg-Frost Comedy

Seth Rogen gets alienated for Pegg/Frost.
Variety reports that Seth Rogen has joined the cast of “Paul,” a comedy written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Greg Mottola is directing.
The film is about a pair of sci-fi geeks (Pegg and Frost) on a road trip, who are thrilled to discover an escaped alien in New Mexico’s legendary Area 51. Rogen will do the voice work for said alien, the title character “Paul.” (Is that his real alien name from his planet? I’d be rather disappointed if it is. Hopefully there’s a good explanation for this.)
I guess this is nice enough for Rogen, but wouldn’t you expect more to see him playing a bumbling worker in Area 51? I guess he’s trying to break out of the typecasting.
Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Jane Lynch, and–best news of all–Jason Bateman have also signed on to the film. I love Pegg/Frost’s “Hot Fuzz” in particular (though it’s a bit long), and this sounds like it’s in a similar vein, so I was already sold. But now it has Jason Bateman in it? I can’t pre-love it enough.
