Hayden Christensen Talks ‘Jumper 2’

Jumper was a film which seemed to defy the critics mauling, and become a bit of a sleeper hit at the box office. Despite people citing a lot of problems with the film, it certainly did good enough business to justify a sequel being made.
We heard from the director Doug Limon back in February about his hopes for a sequel, and where he would want to take the franchise, originally intended to be a trilogy. He set any possible sequel up to be like the ultimate Bourne film.
Now, with the DVD due out, Hayden Christensen, star of the first film, has spoken to the Toronto Sun about the sequel speculation, and his thoughts on it.
“We’re talking about it. I know that they’re having those conversations, I hear about them.”
“It was set up to become that — a trilogy — if it did well. And I think they’re happy with how it did so they want to make another one. But I don’t think they’re rushing to get into production.”
I never did go and see the first one as I just heard too many bad things about it. The trailers made the film look awesome, but in reality, many left the cinema disappointed.
The thing is, any sequel is likely to secure a bigger budget, and Limon will surely look at the criticisms of the original and try to fix them in any further films.
