Glad to have you back, boys, but in 3D…? No.
Some of us may have thought that the “Harold and Kumar” movies were in trouble, or at least in recasting, after star Kal Penn left the acting business to become associate director of the White House Office Of Public Engagement. Well, never fear–Deadline is reporting that Penn is in; he had only committed to one year in the White House job, so apparently he’s out of the White House, or at least on hiatus.
Why, one might ask? Well, for starters, civil service jobs don’t pay nearly as much as six week gigs acting like a stoner. They’re also a lot more work. Might Penn return to politics at some point? Possibly, but you know how it is in Hollywood–if someone offers you a job, you better think long and hard before you turn it down, because you might not get another chance.
The other Harold and Kumar news is that it might be filmed in 3D. Why? Well, no reason other than everything is being filmed in 3D.
