Happy H2! Halloween Sequel Gets Release Date

Halloween 2007

Michael Myers, always Most Likely to Succeed in movie land.

So are you into all the remakes of classic horror movies of the ’70s and ’80s that are popping up everywhere? Well, if so, good news–according to ComingSoon, “H2″, Rob Zombie’s sequel to his remake of “Halloween” is set to be released on August 28th. Filming starts in March.

Zombie’s ”Halloween” was released on just about the same period in 2007 and became a big box office hit, breaking the Labor Day record. You can understand why they want to repeat that strategy. It makes sense because you’ve got a weekend where junior high and high school kids are trying to pack in as much last summer fun as possible, and college kids are just arriving on campus, seeing their friends again after the summer, and free one last time from papers and exams.

Apparently the film will pick up right where the last one left off (warning, Halloween writers–you’re not going to like 2008. Consider skipping ahead.) and will follow the aftermath of Michael Myers murderous rampage through the eyes of heroine Laurie Strode.

CS’s sibling site, ShockTillYouDrop, also has pictures of the mask actor Tyler Mane will wear as Michael Myers in “H2″. The always colorful Rob Zombie says:

“If you thought Michael was f*cked before, you ain’t seen nothing yet! He is bigger, meaner and more psycho than Dr. Loomis ever thought possible.”

Indeed.
