Some times, movies pass me by completely for years. I don’t have time to go to see them at the cinema and before I know it the DVD release has come and gone and I still haven’t seen a movie I was actually keen to watch. This was the case with Happy Feet, the animated feature which came out in 2006.
I eventually saw the film over the past weekend on DVD after I found it in a bargain bin. And then two days later, I find out there’s a sequel in the works. Coincidence or boring anecdote? You decide. Just don’t tell me either way as it may blow my mind.
Happy Feet 2 is set to be made over the course of the next three years by the same team that made the original. The sequel to the smash-hit, Oscar winning original will once again be directed by George Miller, and according to The Age, be made in Australia.
230 computer-generated imaging artists will be amongst the over 400 people working on the movie. No plot details concerning Mumble and his co-stars have yet been revealed but if the first film is anything to go on, expect a lot of big name voice actors and even more singing and dancing.
