The Prince Of Persia video games have been around a long time, but it was only when the Playstation 2 versions were released to much critical acclaim and sold by the bucket load that Hollywood starting circling and decided to option the game for a movie translation.
Eventually, the project started coming together, with Jerry Bruckheimer producing and Jake Gyllenhaal starring as the titular Prince of Persia. Like many others I’m sure, when I heard that Jake had landed the role, I wondered how the skinny guy from Brokeback Mountain was ever going to be transformed in to a swashbuckling hero.
It was actually quite easy, Jake just visited a gym and bulked himself up considerably for the role, and as you can see from the photo above, he looks good on it. Entertainment Tonight wasn’t happy with just one distant shot though and recently visited the set.
You can see the video at Dark Horizons, and while most of the questions are pointless inanity to keep celebrity stalkers happy, there are a few shots of the sets being used and costumes from the movie. The movie looks like it’s coming on a treat, and at risk of joining the ranks of star stalkers, Gyllenhaal looks great. I would, and I’m not even gay.
