Five Killers Lined Up for Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher, surely pondering the next addition to his media empire…or maybe his role in Five Killers.
Variety reports that Ashton Kutcher is set to star in Five Killers, an “action comedy.” Robert Luketic is directing Ted Griffin’s rewrite of Bob DeRosa’s spec script.
In the film, Kutcher will play an ex-hit man who finds out that a figure from his past has hired a group of killers to take him out. Chaos and zany adventures ensue.
Kutcher’s last movie was What Happened in Vegas, which turned into a surprise steady performer in the early part of the summer. Kutcher’s onscreen career has been kind of spotty, with more misses than hits. He’s been actually much more successful offscreen as a TV producer and business partner in some restaurants and such. I don’t know if anyone is waiting breathlessly for him to land his breakout film role; he may not even be waiting, hoping, or caring anymore. But this Five Killers thingy sounds like the kind of light property he should be able to handle, provided nothing else goes disastrously wrong with it, and no doubt it will provide financing for another of his business ventures.
