Fahrenheit…9/12? Moore Plans Sequel to 9/11 Film

Michael Moore

Unsurprisingly, Michael Moore has more to say.

What?! Now documentaries have sequels? Who’d a thunk it? Variety reports today that Michael Moore is planning a sequel to his hit documentary Fahrenheit 9/11. Overture Films and Paramount Vantage are producing. They’ll shop the project to international buyers at the Cannes Film Festival.

The international market is a big deal for this project; Fahrenheit grossed $100 million worldwide, in addition to $119.5 million in the US. The sequel, which promises to pick up where the first movie left off, will undoubtedly continue with its portrait of American wartime ineptitude and presidential incompetence. This subject matter is like shooting fish in a barrel for international sales. Buyers from all over the world will be tripping all over themselves to buy this one.

Fahrenheit 9/11 won the Palme D’Or at Cannes in 2004, and Sicko had its premiere there last year. Moore is supposedly already working on the film with the hope of bringing it to Cannes next year.
