“Evil Dead” is Dead, Says Campbell

Bruce Campbell might have a little gray on that famous chin, but he’s still a damn lot of fun.
Don’t hold your breath for another “Evil Dead” movie. Bruce Campbell, who starred as Ash in the iconic trio of horror movies, which also launched the career of a director you might know, Sam Raimi, told the NY Post that a fourth film is unlikely.
“It’s really all baloney at this point,” Bruce told PopWrap exclusively. “We’d love to do it, but by the time we get around to writing it, Ash is gonna have to be in a walker!”
What, that couldn’t be entertaining? Campbell isn’t desperate–he’s got a steady paycheck with his role in the USA series “Burn Notice,” and has had some fun in films parodying himself. But still, while I can understand an actor wanting to move on, I actually think it could be fun to see a character like Ash muddling through middle age. And hey, Sam Raimi suddenly has a ginormous hole in his schedule, right? So come on, let’s get this done, guys.

Drag Me Out of Hell(Evil Dead 4)
It would be like printing money. Okay, so Drag Me To Hell wasn’t a box office smash, but neither were the Evil Dead films; but combine the two and you have a film that would have all of the cult fans lining up. Ash as the wise, old demon samurai with the questionable history — bitter, tired, and too old for this stuff leads a young Clay Dalton into the underworld to retrieve Christine. Ash has plenty left in the tank. Do it!

LOL! I can just see Ash wielding his boom stick while zooming around in supercharged wheelchair.
