Evan Rachel Wood Finds “10 Things I Hate About Life”

By Kirsten Anderson Casting

Evan Rachel Woods will find 10 things to hate about life.

When I first saw the Deadline capsule headline “Evan Rachel Wood To Star in “10 Things I Hate About…”  I thought “Whaaat?!!” I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a remake in the works of “10 Things I Hate About You,” the 1999 romantic comedy starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger, but I’d be really surprised if Wood was playing a high school student.

Well, no worries–actually, the title is “10 Things I Hate About Life,” and though it’s from writer/director Gil Junger and producer Andrew Lazar, who made the earlier film, it’s not a sequel or related in any way. Well, other than the creators and the similar titles (maybe Junger can only find inspiration in lists?).

Here’s the story:

“It’s about a young man and woman who meet while each is attempting to commit suicide, and they find in each other some great reasons to keep on living.”

Awww, meet cute buying poison!

Wood has several films coming out, including “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman,” “Barefoot,” and “A Case of You.” She seems to do a lot and yet never really makes an impression on me. Well, good for her on the “do a lot” point!
