Emma Watson Talks ‘Deathly Hallows’

It must be strange for an actor to play a character from a book which has then been translated into a movie. They may have read the book already and had an idea of what the character was like, and then they suddenly have to become that person and portray their characteristics to a wider audience.
This must be especially true for the actors in the Harry Potter films as the series was already huge when the first film was released. Even more bizarrely they then got to read the rest of the books having already played that character on celluloid. How weird it must be to read what is happening to your alter-ego?
So I found it interesting to read what the delectable Emma Watson (who plays Hermione Grainger) thought about the last Harry Potter book, The Deathly Hallows, and especially what happens to her character at the end. MTV Movies recently asked her about her thoughts.
MTV: What do you think of Hermione getting together with Ron?
Watson: “I was thrilled really. Ron was the right person for her to be with. I think it was amazing that they had kids. It was perfect.”
MTV: have you discussed it with Robert Grint (Ron Waesley)?
Watson: “God no! We haven’t discussed it. I think we’ll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.”
MTV: What scene are you particularly looking forward to?
Watson: “The scene that really touched me is Ron’s betrayal of Hermione, him leaving her. There’s that wonderful scene where he comes back and Hermione just launches herself at him and starts hitting him and is uncontrollably angry at him and disappointed in him for abandoning her. I’m looking forward to that because it felt very real when I read it.”
Watson has already made Snarkerati once this week by stating that she’d go nude in a movie if the part required it. And now she’s talking about Harry Potter. Anyone would think she had a movie to promote! She has, it’s called The Tale of Despereaux and she plays Princess Pea.
