Disney Plans “Happy Birthday”

By Kirsten Anderson Movie News

A movie about bad birthdays will surely require some unhappy cakes.

Disney isn’t just sitting around playing with their new Disney-stamped Star Wars action figures. Actually, they are picking up ideas that don’t involve Jedis or the planet Tatooine, including one called “Happy Birthday.” Deadline says that the studio has bought the comedy pitch from Jeremy Miller and Dan Cohen.

Here’s the story:

The live action comedy is about a man who turns 40 and vows to never celebrate another birthday again. Unfortunately for him, he finds himself reliving the four worst birthdays from his past.

Is it me or does it sound like they came up with the idea based on, “What would Adam Sandler like?”

Miller and Cohen wrote for “Entourage.” Their TV series “Heavy and Rolling” is being made for Showtime, starring Ryan Phillippe, Breckin Meyer, and David Schiff.
