Demi Moore Bemoans Lack Of Roles

Both ageism and sexism have been rife in Hollywood for decades. In fact, since the town came to exist and be forever associated with the movie industry. But does it still exist today? It appears so, even if most of us are now much more enlightened to equality.
One actress who has definitely noticed the ageism present in Hollywood is Demi Moore. According to Contact Music, in a recent interview with W magazine, she said:
“The frustrating part is that the type of roles I’d be interested in are not really coming to me. I hate to say it’s a function of my age - but yes, I think in some ways it is. The majority of (female) roles are geared between 25 and 35. I know I have an eccentric, obsessive-compulsive side. I’m looking for roles that reach into that quirkier place.”
Moore has kind of added an excuse for Hollywood in that statement, claiming she’s picky and looking for quirky roles. Which, I guess, could explain why she’s struggling to gain roles in present-day Hollywood.
However, part of me wonders if she just added that little clause in case her accusation that ageism is still alive and well in the American film industry had a negative effect on her career and made the roles she is being offered slow down even more.
