In case you’ve been living under a rock in the desert for the past few months, I’ve got news for you – vampires are big right now. No, don’t worry, the undead neck-chompers haven’t taken over the world but thanks to Twilight, everyone and their gran seems to be focusing on vampires once again.
So surely now is the time to bring Buffy The Vampire Slayer back from hell! It could happen, but not on the small screen. This time, there are rumors that Buffy, Angel, Spike and company could soon be making an appearance at a cinema near you, so long as the show’s creator, Joss Whedon, can find the time and money to set the project in motion.
Moviehole reports that rumors are currently flying around Hollywood of a Whedon-penned feature film script doing the rounds just waiting for a studio to take it on. But seeing as the TV show has been off air for five years, and we haven’t really seen much of the franchise since, could this actually work?
That is, of course, assuming the rumors are true to begin with, which they might not be. But if they are, I could see a Buffy movie kicking some serious ass. Get the original cast back, give them a brilliant storyline to bring to life, and get it going quickly enough to benefit from Twilight and we could have something.
