Clement: ‘Conchords’ Movie Possible

Flight Of The Conchords

Hands up here who didn’t like Flight of The Conchords? Wow, I’m surprised so many hands went up. How could you not like them? I agree the first season was a lot better than the second, but still, even that was more inventive, creative, and entertaining than 99 percent of the garbage we’re subjected to on TV these days.

Unfortunately the TV show has now ended, with the second season proving to be the last. Which leaves the Conchords, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, doing their thing live to audiences around the world instead.

However, there could one day be a movie version, with a bigger budget than the TV show enjoyed. Asked whether we’ve seen the last of the Conchords, Clement told The Guardian:

There won’t be any more of the TV show, but we’ll still do the live thing. It might be fun to do a movie musical with a little bit of a budget. I say that just because we had so little budget on the Conchords and so little time to do the music videos, so it’d be great to be able to put a bit more thought into it.

Flight of The Conchords: The Movie? Mark me down as very interested. It would be a great antidote to High School Musical, Camp Rock, Hannah Montana, and Glee, providing musical magnificence for those of us who enjoy a bit of humor with our cheese.

If there’s any chance of this happening then someone, somewhere get behind it and make it so.
