Chloe Sevigny Joins “Lovelace”

Chloe Sevigny, being cool.

Ahh, “Lovelace,” the casting constant. We have word today from Deadline that Chloe Sevigny has joined the cast of the biopic of the 1970s porn star. Amanda Seyfried stars as Linda Lovelace, with Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein directing. Peter Sarsgaard, Debi Mazar, Cory Hardrict, Adam Brody, Eric Roberts, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Wes Bentley, Sharon Stone and Juno Temple are also in the cast.

Sevigny will play a feminist journalist who is assigned to write a story about Lovelace. Later in life, Lovelace turned on the porn world and became a feminist. Maybe Sevigny’s character will be the one who sets her off.

Fashion icon Sevigny will wear the 1970s well. She hasn’t done many feature films, concentrating on her role in TV’s big love and her other non-acting job as the perennial it girl around town. She has a movie called “The Wait” with Jena Malone that’s been done for a while, but doesn’t seem to have a release date and is booked for “Innocence,” also starring Abigail Breslin.

Meanwhile, “Lovelace” needs to replace Demi Moore who pulled out due to numerous health issues. She was supposed to do a cameo as Gloria Steinem, so there’s a nice big open now for another actress. One of the Deadline commenters suggested Diane Lane, and I think that’s a great idea. Hope you’re paying attention, “Lovelace” people!
