Captain America Springs to Life! Gets Writers McFeeley, Markus

Captain America Card

If Captain America’s so great, then why can’t he write his own screenplay?

The Hollywood Reporter says that Stephen McFeeley and Christopher Markus are in negotiations with Marvel Studios to write First Avenger: Captain America. Joe Johnston is set to direct.

McFeeley and Markus wrote The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and its sequel, Prince Caspian, as well as HBO’s The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. Presumably, though, they are Captain America aficionados…aren’t they?

I admit, I don’t know McFeeley and Markus. Therefore, I can’t really comment on their suitability. What this news does tell us is that the film, set for a 2011 release, seems to be chugging along. Yippee, Captain America.
