Good news for the Wachowskis! “Cloud Atlas” may have been a huge box office flop and awards season disappointment, but Warner Brothers still has faith in them. In fact, they have so much faith that they have scheduled the team’s next movie, “Jupiter Ascending,” for the prime summer blockbuster date of July 25, 2014. Maybe it has something to do with the cast: Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Eddie Redmayne and Sean Bean.
Here’s how the Playlist describes the plot:
The story centers on a toilet-scrubbing Russian immigrant, who has the same genetic makeup as the immortal Queen Of The Universe, and threatens her rule. A bounty hunter is then dispatched to take her down, but they fall in love and go on the run.
Kunis plays the Russian immigrant/Queen of the Universe. I guess Tatum is the bounty hunter.
The big competition for “Jupiter Ascending” that weekend is Brett Ratner’s “Hercules,” with Dwayne Johnson. Well, that will be a fun face off…if they both stick to the date.
In news showing less faith, WB has moved the boxing comedy “Grudge Match,” starring Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro from November 15, 2013 to January 10, 2014. January. Uh oh, the month where bad movies go to hide…
