Lots of scheduling news!
- Universal announced that “Jurassic Park 4″ has an actual title: “Jurassic World.” And it has a date: June 12, 2015. Colin Trevorrow, possibly the best name in Hollywood, directs a script he wrote with Derek Connolly. Stephen Spielberg leads the army of producers.
- “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales” has been moved out of its planne release date of July 10, 2015. No new date has been announced, but it seems like they’re aiming for 2016 now. This follows news earlier this week that Disney subsidiary Marvel had moved “Ant-Man” from November 2015 to July 2015.
- Production on “The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes,” the sequel to last month’s “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” has been pushed back from its planned start this fall. The first movie has earned $58 million worldwide in three weeks of release.
“Pushing back the start of production of City Of Ashes was a decision we did not take lightly. But after speaking with all of our partners on the creative and distribution side, it was clear that it will be beneficial to have more time to reposition the film in the current market place”, Constantin Film’s Martin Moszkowicz said in a statement.
I think that means, “The first movie was a flop, we really don’t want to make the second and we’re just looking for a way to get it.”
