Bonham Carter Looks for Salvation (of the Terminator Kind)

Helena Bonhanm Carter to add her mix of class and crazy to Terminator Salvation.

Reuters (via The Hollywood Reporter) has news that Helena Bonham Carter is in talks to join the cast of Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

Who will she be playing? Well…no info available to the news service it appears. All they know is that she will be playing a “small but pivotal role.” Yes, I would imagine that Ms. Bonham Carter wouldn’t be keen on traveling to New Mexico in the middle of the summer to play a small, utterly inconsequential, perhaps forgettable role (I should also point out that in a good script, all the characters are important; if they’re not, they shouldnt’ be there). And no, this is not a sign that McG is about to be fired and Tim Burton hired to take over the film. Not that that wouldn’t be interesting.

Helena Bonham Carter’s always interesting, quirky, and offbeat (these are the kinds of characteristics that make you into Tim Burton’s muse) and can fit into futuristic pix as well as period pieces. She’ll add something to the film. Next up for her of course is the remainder of the Harry Potter saga, where she acts rings around the kids.
