‘Bill and Ted 3′ On Way? Keanu Reeves Leaves Possibility Open…

No-one can fail to love the Bill and Ted films: cult classics, hugely funny, and starring a duo who make Tenacious D look positively intelligent. Shame there were only two then really.
But wait, what’s that I see before me? News of a third film? And Keanu Reeves himself discussing the project?
Don’t get your hopes up quite yet, as Reeves hasn’t said he’d be in a third Bill and Ted film, but he didn’t quite rule it out either. He told MTV Movies:
“I hear they’re doing a remake. [Alex Winter and I spoke] on the phone the other day [about it]. We’re great friends.”
“The most serious we ever got was a few years ago. I had once mentioned about doing it when we were 40. Now maybe the only shot we have is to do it when we’re 50.”
How good would it be if they made a third? I can just see it now, revisiting Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan in middle age to see how the Wyld Stallions are doing.
I’m not holding my breath that this will ever get made, but at least Reeves isn’t just telling the press to move on and not talk about a film from his past. Is he mellowing out in his old age?

There’ve been rumours about these for years, and in fact watching them again recently brought back a few fun memories. I can’t help wondering where Bill & Ted’s story would pick up from - they’ve been to heaven and hell, the past and the future.
Perhaps they could have a storyline where they both get wasted on drugs and have an acrimonious split, then release half-a-dozen half-assed solo albums before getting together for a big reunion tour? Too realistic? What do you think?
