Screen Daily says that Jessica Alba has joined the cast of “Barely Lethal.” She’ll star along with Hailee Steinfeld and Samuel L. Jackson. Kyle Newman directs a screenplay by John D’Arco.
“Barely Lethal” is about “Megan, a teenage assassin who is hunted by a former associate after she fakes her own death and enrolls in a suburban high school.” Steinfeld, of course, will play Megan. Jackson will play her former boss, and Alba will play a villain named Victoria Knox. Well, that’s a good old-fashioned soap opera name.
If you’ve been wondering where Alba’s been over the past few years, the answer is making lots of movies that will premiere all at once. Here’s what she’s got coming up: the comedy “A.C.O.D.” with Adam Scott; the action movie “Stretch” from Joe Carnahan, “Machete Kills” and “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” from Robert Rodriguez. She’s also in the Will Ferrell joke IFC miniseries “The Spoils of Babylon.” So there you go, plenty of Jessica Alba coming at you.
