Are You “Robsessed”? Pattinson Doc Explores Teen Star Phenomenon

Many girls are “Robsessed.”
Screen Daily reports that film distributor Revolver has picked up the rights to “Robsessed,” a feature length documentary about Robert Pattinson’s rise to fame and his fans’ obsession with him. Revolver plans to release the doc on DVD in November, about the same time as “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” hits screens; there may also be a special boxed set edition which will include the 2006 film “Haunted Airmen,” which stars Pattinson and is owned by Revolver.
(Thanks to the MTV Movies Blog for pointing out this story. Always credit where credit is due here.)
Revolver chief exec Justin Marciano says:
“Teenagers just can’t get enough of Robert Pattinson and this broadcast quality biography is guaranteed to deliver whether on TV or home entertainment.”
The funny thing is that it’s not like Pattinson’s rise to fame is anything particularly special–there have been plenty of teen idols who reduced young girls to helpless devotees, from James Dean to the “Titanic” era Leonardo DiCaprio. The difference now, though, is that technology makes it so easy for anyone to throw together a film, especially a documentary. Obviously I haven’t seen “Robsessed,” but I’m guessing it’s heavy on slow panned shots of newspaper and magazine articles, clips pulled from YouTube, shots of screaming girls a”Twilight” events, and talking head interviews with teens who are eager to explain why the young man is so different from anyone else. Ever. And how they know he’s not really Edward, but…
You see what I mean. Easy as pie. Now aren’t you sorry that you didn’t jump in and make “Robsessed” and picked up the distribution fee?

Great Article. I have 5 daughters who all want to marry Rob. I guess 4 of them are going to be unlucky.

The website of this DVD and affiliates are ripping off the name/content of established websites in the twilight community, namely www.robsessedpattinson.com .
They are trying to cash in on Robert Pattinson’s fame with this UNAUTHORIZED DVD.
We are officially calling for a boycott of this DVD, and anything related to this company and their products. Exploitation, gross misrepresentation and stealing do not sell. Thanks, Gozde
