Noah Baumbach’s “Frances Ha” just hit theaters last weekend, but he’s busy putting together his next film, “While We’re Young.” And now we have news from The Wrap that Amanda Seyfried is joining the cast of that movie. Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, and Adam Driver are already set to star, with a fall shoot planned.
The movie focuses on Stiller and Watts as a married couple who “strike up an unlikely friendship with a free-spirited younger couple, to be played by Driver and Seyfried, whose character makes homemade ice cream.” Well, now we know who these characters are. Smorgasburg and possibly food trucks will be involved, I’m sure.
The project has been in development for several years, and the cast has had many moving parts; Greta Gerwig was originally slated for the role that’s now going to Seyfried.
Seyfried does the lead voice for this weekend’s animated movie “Epic. She played the title character in “Lovelace,” which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and will get a theatrical run sometime this year. She’s currently working on Seth MacFarlane’s “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” and is also booked to star with Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor in “Z For Zachariah.”
