Variety reports that Alex Pettyfer is joining the cast of “Cali,” a crime drama to be directed by Nick Cassavetes. Kristen Stewart is set to star. Michael Diliberti wrote the screenplay. S
Stewart will play Mya, a young woman who, with her boyfriend, Chris, fakes her own death as part of a snuff film and runs away. Years later, she has to return to the San Fernando valley in an effort to save her sisters.
The whole faking the death thing, that’s a little complicated for me. Why not just run away? How annoying. Well, Stewart’s had kind of a rough week, so the idea of running away must seem very appealing right now.
“Cali” is set to film late this summer. Pettyfer had a hit recently with “Magic Mike” where we would love to believe the Tatum-Pettyfer feud gossip. Pettyfer is also set to be part of the huge cast of “The Butler.”
