‘Harry Potter: The Exhibition’ Set To Tour Worldwide

Hold on to your hats (or should that be wands and broomsticks) Harry Potter fans, as you are about to get the chance to get close to experiencing the HP universe for yourself. Becker Group and Warner Bros. Consumer Products have announced Harry Potter: The Exhibition, a state of the art exhibition containing props and artefacts from the films based on the J.K.Rowling series of books.
The exhibition is set to première in a major world city in Spring 2009, and from there, visit ten more cities around the world over a five year span. As well as artefacts and props, the 10,000 square foot exhibition will include costumes and multimedia displays, including some from the final instalments of the series, yet to be made.
According to Dark Horizons, any updates will be posted at HarryPotterExhibition.com, including news about venues, advance ticket booking, and ticket availability.
Glenn Tilley, president and chief executive officer of Becker Group said:
“Creating this magical tour around such a legendary property is a true milestone for Becker Group, both as a company, and a source of creative entertainment-based attractions,”
Brad Globe, president Warner Bros. Consumer Products added:
“We’re thrilled to partner with Becker Group to produce this multi-dimensional exhibition dedicated to the iconic Harry Potter film series,”
“Fans around the world will finally be able to see the incredible craftsmanship and detail that went into creating their favourite props and costumes.”
The Harry Potter series is the most successful film franchise of all time, with worldwide box office takings already at $4.5 billion. It’s no wonder Warner Bros. want to wring the opportunity dry before it comes to an end.
Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince is due out on November 21st. Then, as officially announced a few days ago, The Deathly Hallows: Part I will be released in November 2010, with The Deathly Hallows: Part II released in May 2011.
