‘300’ Sequel Details Revealed

300 was a film that divided opinions, with some loving the highly stylised look and feel of it, and others thinking it just ended up looking tacky. I was in the former camp, thinking it to be a brave attempt at making something different in these times when studios want guaranteed hits with no risks.
Ever since the film came out, there has been speculation over some kind of sequel or prequel. The project has since been confirmed with both Warner Bros. and producers agreeing to do it all again. There’s just one problem: what to base it on?
The first film was based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller, and he is now said to be working on the sequel, a book that will eventually form the basis of the next film. Director Zack Snyder recently told IESB.net what he knew about the sequel. It turns out not much, but enough to keep us all intrigued.
The movie will be wholly based on Miller’s as-yet unfinished graphic novel, so no script is anywhere near being started. No-one apart from Miller will have any input in to the book but Snyder knows that it will take place “between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea, the battle that narrator Dilios is at while re-telling the story of King Leonidas and the mighty Spartans to a new group of warriors at the end of 300.”
This sounds awesome and I just hope that a similar style and feel is given to this sequel/prequel as was to the original. I slo hope some of the original cast comes back, at least the ones who managed to survive the first film - just Dilios then.
