Gamers around the world were elated when, in November 2011, Rockstar debuted the first trailer for GTA V. A new Grand Theft Auto game? Yes please, came the collective response. And then nothing. For months. On end. No new news ever since that day.
I don’t remember there being quite this kind of build-up to any previous GTA game, but I could be wrong. It just seems peculiar that Rockstar would unleash a trailer giving several major clues as to setting and storyline and then just shut up shop.
We don’t even yet know when GTA V is going to be released. But the longer we wait for any news the later it looks like being. I’d say the chances of it hitting by the end of this year are becoming more remote by the day.
There is one hope: E3 2012, which is to be held at the beginning of June. Rockstar is sure to be in attendance, and I fully expect them to reveal more of the latest Grand Theft Auto game. If they don’t then rumors will start to fly about the place. And these may get ugly.
