Anyone who was gaming back in the 1990s will likely remember Toejam and Earl, at least if they owned a Sega Genesis console. Those that remember it will likely remember it fondly, as it was one of those games that just stuck in your mind.
It was first released over 20 years ago, but the script and the comically-simplistic gameplay means hearing the name will jog many people’s memories of the game. The news that it may soon be coming to PS3 could just about blow their minds.
According to Siliconera both Toejam & Earl and Toejam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron are set to be released on the Sony console as part of Sega’s Vintage Collection which has already seen the likes of Gunstar Heroes and Jet Set Radio emerge from the vault.
Both games were critical successes the first time around, and the characters have built something of a cult following since. So I suspect the re-released versions will sell well… but only to middle-aged men like myself.
