There have been rumors of an online MMORPG based in the Elder Scrolls universe for a long time, but no details have ever emerged into the wild. Until now. Unfortunately it’s still just a teaser of a full reveal set to come later this month.
Game Informer has scored the exclusive first look at the game, and it will grace the front cover of its June edition. In the meantime all we have to go on is the image you can see above and just a few small details.
The Elder Scrolls Online has been developed by Zenimax Online Studiosand will feature a whole new chapter in the series. The game is set a millennium before the events of Skyrim, so we see “the daedric prince Molag Bal” seeking to pull the whole of Tamriel “into his demonic realm.”
The game’s director Matt Firor teased:
“It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
The Elder Scrolls series has a lot of fans, some of them seriously addicted to the titles. The latest, titled The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has been a particularly big hit with hardcore gamers.
More details, screenshots, and even a trailer are due to be unveiled through the course of the month on The Elder Scrolls Online hub.
