The Resistance series of games have been a highlight of the Playstation exclusives, with a main trilogy on the PS3 and spin-offs on the PSP and PS Vita. But fans may have a bit of a wait before any new titles are released.
Insomniac Games is known to have finished its involvement with the series, but the handheld games developed by other studios it was hoped that wouldn’t necessarily mean no more games.
As far as Sony is concerned the future of the Resistance series is up in the air, with SCEE Online producer Daniel Brooke telling the Official Playstation Magazine:
“The Resistance franchise has been exciting to work on but as for the future we have no definitive plans.”
That doesn’t bode well, pointing to the series being on hiatus at the very least. But perhaps a break will do the series good, with the next-gen consoles offering a new opportunity to tell the story of the Chimera invasion.
