Nintendo is set to launch the Wii U this holiday season, assuming there are no major delays in the next three months. With the PS4 and Xbox 720 due to be released late in 2013 this means the current- and next-gen will be existing side-by-side for around a year.
Several developers have already added the Wii U to its line-up of platforms for forthcoming releases, so the games in question will land on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. So how will these “ports” (for want of a better word) look?
The answer comes courtesy of Sumo Digital, which recently told Eurogamer that Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed will look “on-par … or maybe even better” on the Wii U as on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
There was no reason to suspect otherwise, as the Wii U is set to be a powerful console. However, I can’t see it stacking up quite so well against the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft. Not that Nintendo is really focusing on graphics in the first place.
