After literally months of speculation Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be arriving in Spring 2013. Assuming we’re talking U.S. seasons then that means a GTA V release date between March and June of next year.
Rockstar may have been planning on revealing the GTA V release date soon, but they were no doubt given a gentle push to do so by the leaking of posters online in recent days. Either way, the developer is promising many more details to be revealed in November.
All we know now is that Grand Theft Auto 5 will first be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360, with a simultaneous worldwide release. The PC version of the game will then follow at an undisclosed time in the future.
GTA V is set in a “re-imagined, present-day Southern California… the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond – from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean.” Rockstar also claims it to be the “largest and most thriving game-world” they have ever created.
