‘Resident Evil 6′ Arrives, Impresses

Resident Evil 6 has been unveiled, with Capcom announcing a release date of Nov. 20, 2012 on consoles, with a PC version to follow soon after. This comes more than two years after the release of Resident Evil 5, which caused controversy thanks to its African setting.

Alongside the official announcement came a trailer, embedded below for your delectation. it’s well worth a watch, being more than three minutes long and revealing certain aspects of the gameplay, characters, and story.

For the first time ever, established series characters Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy will appear in a game together. They are the main characters and are both playable, which should make the confirmed co-op mode a lot of fun.

The main location for the game is China, which is facing an attack from bio-terrorists. However, the game is expected to span the globe, with locations from around the world featured.

The visuals look fantastic, being much-improved over those of Resident Evil 5. The gameplay looks to have been given a kicking as well, with an obvious nod to the Uncharted series.

I’ve never been a big fan of the Resident Evil games but this one may break that trend. If Resident Evil 6 lives up to the promise of the trailer.
