God Of War: Ascension is now confirmed but Mirror’s Edge 2 remains just a rumor. But the mill has thrown up some interesting speculation as to the platform and nature of the sequel possibly in development.
According to Dual Pixels, Mirror’s Edge 2 will be released on the next-gen Xbox, currently codenamed Durango. This will ensure it makes full use of the new Kinect, which is likely to be a core part of the console.
The new Kinect, so the rumor suggests, will be able to track every limb of your body right down to your fingers. Which would make a new Mirror’s Edge title the perfect game with which to showcase the new technology.
Whatever the truth it’s unlikely to be revealed until E3 2013, a full year away. If Mirror’s Edge 2 is to be an Xbox 360 exclusive then it’s likely to be a launch title too. Although I found the original frustrating as hell, Kinect controls could make all the difference.
